ABOUT THIS POSITION

The Information Technology Bureau within the Phoenix Police Department currently has one vacancy for a Lead Vendor Specialist (Information Technology/Analyst Programmer III) in the Business Applications Team. This position will be responsible for supporting and maintaining vendor applications assigned to the Business Applications team. This is a supervisory position that will ensure all vendor applications are following compliance with city standards and assess new vendor application requests to determine the scope, requirements, and resources needed for each project. This position will also involve performing system upgrades, patch releases, access management, and security audits when necessary.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Ability to:
- Support a business application used to support customer experiences / interactions.
- Work in a team environment with a strong focus on customer service and solution ownership.
- Develop business case, scope of work, business requirements, schedules, and resources for new application requests.
- Ensure new vendor software requests meet department requirements, technology industry standards including internet security, and criminal justice information services (CJIS) compliance.
- Communicate technical information clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Have a proactive and collaborative approach to teamwork, with a focus on continuous learning and professional development to stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in IT.
- Be proficient in day-to-day technical support and troubleshooting, implementation of technology projects, and writing business and technical requirements.
- Excellent time management and communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure, providing timely and effective technical support to end users.
SALARY
Pay Range: $78,540.80 – $121,825.60 annually.
Hiring Range: $78,540.80 to $110,510.40 annually.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Three years of experience in applications analysis and programming, systems analysis and design; including project leader responsibility.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer information systems, business administration, mathematics, or related field.
- Other combinations of experience and education, which meet the minimum requirements, may be substituted.

- Some positions require the use of personal or City vehicles on City business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid driver’s license and have an acceptable driving record. Use of a personal vehicle for City business will be prohibited if the employee is not authorized to drive a City vehicle or if the employee does not have personal insurance coverage.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The minimum qualifications listed above, plus:
- Experience with/in:
- Supervisory others.
- Hands-on experience managing vendor applications.
- Working with industry standard help desk software such as ServiceNow or similar platforms, demonstrating proficiency in ticket management and end user support.
- Project management, specifically implementing new or replacement application solutions.
