The Role and the Department
The School of Government and International Affairs (SGIA) is seeking to appoint a self-motivated individual to join our friendly administrative team as a permanent Learning and Teaching Administrator to provide professional support for the delivery of world-class education programmes.
The School of Government and International Affairs is a UK (top 10) and globally-known school (top 100) with a focus on educating students with high quality, research-led teaching and encouraging them to display the highest levels of commitment to educational excellence. Supporting them to consistently innovate is a central feature of what the School does in order to ensure that graduates will have outstanding skills to take into the world of work.
The Learning and Teaching Administrator is responsible for the provision of a professional, efficient administrative service, supporting a wide range of teaching, learning and assessment activities from the point of student enrolment through to graduation. S/he will work independently, taking day-to-day decisions and using his/her experience and initiative to decide on appropriate courses of action and resolve problems. S/he will work flexibly to ensure the team functions effectively in meeting priorities, working in accordance with University and Departmental policies and procedures, demonstrating a commitment to customer service excellence.

Essential Criteria
Qualifications/Experience
1. Five GCSE’s at least Grade C or level four (or equivalent) including English Language and Mathematics or equivalent experience.
2. Experience of working in a busy office environment delivering front line administrative services or having relevant qualifications for the role.
3. Experience of managing time to meet deadlines and working under pressure without compromising on quality.
Skills/Abilities/Knowledge
1. Good spoken and written communication skills.
2. Good digital skills including experience in using digital devices and apps including the internet, email, digital communication tools, Microsoft 365 applications, digital booking systems.
3. Committed to continuing professional development.
4. Ability to solve problems and resolve straightforward issues yourself and as part of a team.
5. Ability to provide advice and guidance to a range of colleagues and customers.
6. Accuracy, numeracy and attention to detail.
7. A high level of discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality
