TERM-TIMEWe are currently seeking a Learning Mentor to join The Bedford College Group at our Central Bedfordshire College campus in Dunstable.The Learning Mentor (LM) is vital for student success, offering support and fostering resilience and a growth mindset. This role ensures high attendance and tackles persistent absences. By supporting ‘at-risk’ students through early interventions, the LM improves learning opportunities. Acting as a liaison between support agencies and curriculum teams, the LM ensures a holistic approach to student well-being and academic progress.The ideal candidate must understand Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion and have experience in student support or a similar role. They should be adept at providing careers advice, empathetic to student needs, and knowledgeable about safeguarding and confidentiality. Strong communication, organisational, interpersonal, and IT skills are essential. The ability to handle sensitive data, work under pressure, build professional relationships, alongside the following qualifications:
- Good all-round general education
- Willingness to work towards Level 2 Safeguarding and Youth Mental Health First Aid qualification.
