Salary Information: Minimum $ 1,911/credit hour, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Temporary/Permanent: Temporary 

Other Conditions: Lecturer applicant pool for future semesters; temporary, part-time work, contingent upon student enrollment, position availability and funding. Must be available to teach courses during the day, evening, weekend, and/or via distance learning, as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Teach assigned courses in Filipino Studies including language, culture, and Philippine institutions
  2. Prepare course schedule, syllabus, and reports relating to teaching and student progress
  3. Maintain a minimum of one office hour per week for each course taught
  4. Other related tasks and/or duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Master’s degree in Philippine studies or a closely related field from an accredited institution or from foreign countries.
  2. Experience in teaching using various modes including online and hybrid platforms.
  3. Demonstrated teaching effectiveness.

Desirable Qualifications

  1. Demonstrated experience in teaching courses in Filipino Studies including language, culture, and Philippine institutions at the college level either in the US, the Philippines or abroad.
  2. Demonstrated ability to teach diverse student populations in a multicultural setting.
  3. Holds a doctorate degree related to the discipline of Filipino studies to teach upper-level courses.
  4. Evidence of teaching effectiveness.

Expense of the evaluation shall be borne by the applicant.
