Location: Cambridge
Salary: £28,385 – £41,782 per annum (pro rata if part-time)
Contract: Permanent, Full Year
Hours: 37 hours per week
Annual Leave: 42 days per annum

Are you passionate about shaping the next generation of construction professionals? We are seeking a dedicated Lecturer in Technical Construction (Built Environment) to deliver high-quality teaching and learning across a range of programmes. You will inspire learners of all ages and abilities, contribute to curriculum development, and support students to achieve their full potential.Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and effective teaching, assessment, and feedback in line with awarding body requirements
  • Develop and maintain teaching materials, schemes of work, and assessment plans
  • Support learners as a course tutor, tracking progress and maintaining accurate records
  • Assist in student recruitment, admissions, and promotional activities
  • Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and resource planning
  • Build and maintain links with industry professionals and stay up to date with sector developments
  • Uphold safeguarding, equality, and health & safety standards at all times

About YouEssential:

  • Level 5 qualification or degree in Construction and the Built Environment
  • Substantial, recent, and relevant industry experience
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and IT skills
  • Ability to motivate and support learners of all backgrounds
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults

Desirable:

  • Certificate in Education, PGCE, or equivalent (or willingness to work towards)
  • Assessor (A1) and/or Internal Verification (V1) qualifications
  • Experience teaching T Levels or knowledge of Design, Surveying, and Planning
  • Up-to-date knowledge of construction sustainability, retrofit, and green skills

  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed
  • Ability to travel independently to other college sites
