Then we’re looking for talent like you to join the OGC Team!What will your typical day look like?As the Legal Assistant you will work directly with the General Counsel and her direct reports, providing legal administrative support. You will help to maintain calendars, manage expenses, prepare agendas and reports, complete invoicing, and organize and maintain legal documents. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Managing calendars including scheduling meetings and appointments, coordinating schedules, and making travel arrangements;
  • Preparing meeting agendas and materials;
  • Managing and processing expenses including gathering and filing receipts and preparing expense reports;
  • Assisting with billing and managing the invoicing process;
  • Creating regular reports and updating internal databases;
  • Drafting, proofreading and filing or sending legal documents;
  • Organizing and maintaining documents and electronic files;
  • Supporting hiring and onboarding activities;
  • Assisting with legal and compliance projects, as assigned; and
  • Establishing, implementing, and improving existing administrative procedures.

About the teamThe Office of the General Counsel is a national, high performing group of professionals providing legal advice to the Deloitte Canada firm and our business leaders. The OGC consists of approximately 45 people including lawyers, paralegals, law clerks and paraprofessionals. They advise on corporate, commercial, regulatory, risk, employment, and litigation matters. Our work is rewarding, and we see the impact of the services we provide to our clients.Enough about us, let’s talk about youYou are someone who has/is:

  • 3+ years experience as an administrative assistant in a law firm, legal assistant or legal secretary in a business;
  • Experience supporting multiple lawyers or executives simultaneously;
  • Knowledge of day-to-day operations of a legal office;
  • Detail oriented, highly organized and has strong time management skills;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate in a professional manner (proficient in Microsoft Office suite of applications);
  • Able to work independently and as a team contributor;
  • Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines;
  • Able to build relationships across the Deloitte network and externally;
  • A Bachelor’s degree is an asset.

Total RewardsThe salary range for this position is $58,000 – $96,000, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
