Responsibilities
- Negotiate and draft commercial agreements including customer and vendor agreements.
- Provide practical legal and strategic advice on a range of UK and international legal matters including employment, intellectual property, media, M&A, privacy, and dispute resolution.
- Build relationships with the Commercial team and other key stakeholders across the organisation.
- Continuously learn about our business, services and technology. Develop and maintain expertise in current legal issues relevant to our business, such as those relating to artificial intelligence.
- Drive and contribute to legal projects, including improving our legal operations as we scale.
Requirements
- English law qualified solicitor with a current practising certificate.
- At least 2 years of relevant post-qualification experience in private practice.
- Experience of reviewing and negotiating SaaS and/or data licensing contracts.
- Keen commercial awareness and ability to provide actionable advice.
- Excellent people skills with an ability to maintain strong working relationships.
- Sound and practical judgment in managing legal risks.
- The ability to work both independently and as a team player in a fast-paced environment.
- Confident and clear communicator.
Preferred
- In-house experience.
- Experience related to the financial services, media and/or technology sectors.
- Experience or interest in using technology to improve legal operations.
