Legal Secretary – Residential ConveyancingBridgendCompetitive salaryOur well-established client is seeking an experienced Legal secretary to join their busy residential Conveyancing team based at their Bridgend office.This role will provide administration support to fee earners within the Residential Conveyancing Team, to enable them to operate at optimum efficiency, in addition to ensuring clients receive an excellent level of customer service throughout the onboarding, transaction & post completion process.As a Legal Secretary, you will be responsible for:Administration

  • Ordering searches
  • Drafting sales contracts
  • Submitting Land Registry applications and dealing with requisitions
  • Obtaining land registry documents
  • Obtaining documents from local authority (planning and building reg departments), Management Company’s, NHBC etc.
  • Administering filing systems which will include daily printing, filing and the opening, closing, storage and retrieval of client files
  • Assisting with maintaining multiple colleague calendars.
  • Making photocopies and storing client documents
  • Maintain high levels of client and company confidentiality
  • Any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as directed by your line manager or Director.

Audio Typing / Transcribing

  • Preparing client correspondence and documents as instructed by a Solicitor / Conveyancer through audio typing and word processing.
  • Listening to audio recordings and transcribe them accurately into written documents such as emails, Microsoft word etc.
  • Using transcription software and equipment to aid in the transcription process.
  • Reviewing, proofreading and editing transcriptions for errors including spelling & punctuation, accuracy, and clarity.

Essential Experience, skills & knowledge

  • Experience working as an audio typist or legal secretary is essential.
  • Experience of audio typing / transcribing and word processing is essential.
  • Experience in the use of Microsoft Office to include Word and Outlook is essential.
  • Experience using a client / customer / case management system is desirable.
  • High levels of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Highly organised and able to prioritise workloads.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal at all levels.
  • Excellent general IT skills, with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems.
  • Strong level of literacy and numeracy.
  • Team player.

Expected salary

£25000 – 28000 per year
