The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• Graduate from an accredited practical/vocational nursing program.
• Current license as an LPN in the Commonwealth of PA.
• One year of experience as an LPN preferred.
• Genuine interest in working with individuals with physical and developmental disabilities.
• A current and valid PA driver’s license and reliable transportation may be required.

Merakey Allegheny Valley School (Merakey AVS) is a non-profit organization which provides homes and a full range of services to individuals with all levels of intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). The majority of the nearly 800 individuals that we support are diagnosed with severe or profound IDD. In addition, most of the people we serve have multiple physical disabilities, extensive medical complications and may require supports for challenging behaviors.

As an LPN, you will provide direct nursing care to persons with developmental and physical disabilities by completing clinical assessments, recording seizure activity as needed, and administering medications.

New Rates:

Earn between $29.00-$33.00/hour with shift differentials and the option of an additional $2/hour with the selection of enhanced pay.
