Primary Duties: Repair idle spindles and breakdowns and perform style changes.

Tools Required: Complete set of hand tools, necessary gauges and specialty tools, Company issued lock out/tag out, grease gun, oil cup, steel toe shoes, hand truck, ladder, hand roller picker, utility knife, cut resistant glove, OSHA approved air nozzle for compressed air, respirator, safety glasses, brush, and ear plugs.

Materials Used: Fiber, machine parts, lubricants

Supervision Exercised: None; receives instructions from Supervisor, Yarn Mill Technical Manager, or Yarn Mill Manager.

Job Procedures:

1. Follow all established Plant Safety rules.

2. Follow daily inspection routine on assigned machines. Make sure that Seletex settings, machine speeds, and air pressures are set correctly. Check oil glass and inspect drafting components.

3. Make sure knotters and doffers are operating properly.

4. Blow off spinning frames once per week.

5. Lubricate knotter bills on assigned machines.

6. Repair idle spindles on jets. Record any issues on the Spinning Tech Report. (YARNMILLFORM020)

7. Perform style changes.

8. Repair breakdowns.

9. Fill in for operators when needed.

10. Check emergency stop buttons and door switches for proper operation, as scheduled.

11. Perform quality checks after a style change. Fill out Style Change Authorization form and turn in to Yarn Mill Manager.

12. Maintain spare component inventory

13. Assist other Technicians when needed.

14. Perform all other duties as directed by management.

Minimum Job Requirements: Must be able to read and write. Must be cleared by Occupational Nurse for vision and color vision. Must have basic math and computer skills. Competency testing may be required.

Follow all Safety Rules, and comply with the Job Safety & Health Analysis (JSHA). All Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be used as required. Any accident or near miss must be reported immediately.
