We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Linux Professional to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will provide exceptional 3rd line operational support and build robust solutions for our Enterprise Cloud and Legacy computing infrastructure. You will play a critical role in managing complex Oracle Linux systems and optimizing our infrastructure using cutting-edge technologies such as Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, and Veritas Cluster Server (VCS)

This position requires strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of Oracle Linux operating systems. Additionally, you will be responsible for on-call support to ensure continuous availability and address any critical issues that may arise outside of regular business hours. You will also be given flexibility so that you can maintain your work life balance. 

What you’ll be doing

  • As an SME, you specialize in Enterprise Cloud and legacy compute platforms. You’ll troubleshoot and resolve escalated technical issues related to Oracle Linux systems, applications, and network connectivity, ensuring smooth operations.
  • Assess risk, manage and mitigate this taking action up to director level.
  • Maintain good working relationships with key internal or external stakeholders at senior level
  • Oracle Linux Server Management: Deploy, configure, monitor, and maintain Oracle Linux servers across the organization, ensuring high availability, optimal performance, and security.
  • Performance Optimization: Identify and address performance bottlenecks in the Oracle Linux environment, including system, application, and network components, to ensure optimal system efficiency.
  • Automation and Configuration Management: Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks and automation scripts to streamline administrative tasks, configuration management, and deployment processes.
  • Containerization and Orchestration: Utilize Docker for containerization and Kubernetes for orchestration to manage and scale containerized applications effectively.
  • Veritas Cluster Server (VCS) Management: Configure, monitor, and maintain the Veritas Cluster Server for high availability and failover of critical applications and services.
  • Patch Management: Manage the deployment of system patches, updates, and upgrades in accordance with change management policies and procedures.
  • On-Call Support: Participate in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours support for critical incidents and ensure the continuous availability of the Oracle Linux infrastructure.

What you’ll bring

Must have

  • Strong Operating System & Virtulisation knowledge.
  • Experience in Infrastructure Management with a very large-scale cloud platform as well as Enterprise Cloud platform knowledge.
  • Extensive experience troubleshooting and resolving complex issues related to Oracle Linux systems, applications, and network connectivity.
  • Demonstrated experience in performance optimization of Oracle Linux environments.
  • Previous involvement in patch management and system upgrade projects.
  • Good Communication skills & Stakeholder Management.

Nice to have

  • Practical knowledge of implementing and managing Veritas Cluster Server (VCS) for high availability and failover.
  • Knowledge of shell scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, Perl) for automation and administrative tasks.
  • Experience with virtualization and containerization technologies such as VMware, Docker and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of security best practices, vulnerability management, and system hardening.
  • Asset Management
