Full Job DescriptionWe’re on a mission to give our colleagues an amazing work/life balance!Job Title: Literacy Interventions Learning Support AssistantSalary: £22,500 per annumLocation: School For Inspiring Talents, DevonContract: Permanent; Term Time Only, 39 weeks per yearHours: 37 hours per week; Monday to FridayAbout usSchool for Inspiring Talents (SfIT) is an independent day school, supporting the most vulnerable young people in society aged 5-16; those young people who do not find it easy to fit into existing educational provision. This can be for many reasons, including a range of behavioural, emotional and educational challenges, exacerbated by being on the autistic spectrum. Other difficulties such as sensory processing disorders, attachment disorders or those having faced trauma in their lives.It is our intention that every student will achieve their full potential in both academic and personal development. As a day school, we provide an alternative to residential education which supports our students to develop independence and social skills whilst living in their home environment.We are really proud to say that in 2024, Outcomes First Group were officially certified as a ‘Great Place to Work’ for the fifth year running.Job Summary and DutiesAs a Learning Support Assistant based at our Newton Abbot / Ashburton school(s) you will be a key member of our team, enhancing the education of our students. This is a great opportunity in a growing school with excellent opportunities to build experience working amongst young people with Social, Emotional & Mental Health difficulties (SEMH).We are looking for a skilled LSA who has a background in working with students with SEND or who has a proven track record working within an educational setting, confident in delivering targeted interventions. Training will be provided in Read Write Inc Phonics and Fresh Start – and the successful candidate will work closely alongside our class based SENDCo and Reading Lead. We would like for this candidate, over time to be upskilled in helping students with dyslexia, learning about precision teaching and other specific teaching strategies that can assist students with this learning need across the school.Following a thorough induction programme, your duties will include:
