Scope of Work:

Under the supervision of the Immunization Specialist, the consultants will work in close coordination and collaboration with the UNICEF PCO team to conduct the following tasks:

  1. Overall project coordination support towards the effective and timely implementation of project-related activities.
  2. Support the ongoing monitoring of implementation of project activities including the conduct of regular meetings in coordination with the DOH-BIHC.
  3. Be responsible for ensuring the schedule, budget and details of a given task are well organized.
  4. Communicate with various stakeholders to keep everyone on board about any changes to the project plan.
  5. Organize reporting, plan meetings and provide updates to project managers and other project staff.
  6. Liaise and coordinates with the various project stakeholders for project-related activities in a timely manner.
  7. Prepare the minutes of meetings as needed and maintains a project calendar.
  8. Provide ongoing status reports and updates on the project implementation.
  9. Support DOH at the national level and some priority  regions in the planning, implementation and monitoring of the MR-SIA phase 1 and 2.

Deliverables/Outputs:

  1. Support DOH and regions to review the MR SIA data coverage (bottleneck analysis), provide recommendations on improving the access and coverage
  2. Support in the demand generation activities and social mobilization activities of the MR SIA at the National, Regional and LGU levels to successfully achieve high coverage
  3. Spearhead the review of existing activities and strategies of CHDs and LGUs to achieve high coverage
  4. Support the assessment of the scale up of an expanded Reaching Every Purok Strategy and other innovations to improve routine immunization and contribute to measles and other vaccine-preventable elimination goals
  5. In collaboration with UNICEF COMS team C4D Specialist and DOH Health Promotion Bureau, support the content development of the advocacy plans, human interest stories, and case studies from the field.
  6. Support NIP Multistakeholder Coalition to mobilize resources in support for MR SIA and in strengthening routine immunization thereafter
  7. Ensure timely ad efficient fund utilization in accordance with UNICEF DCT timelines
  8. Support ongoing monitoring of implementation of project activities including conduct of regular meetings in coordination with DOH and ChildFund Phils.
  9. Ensure that the timeline, , budget and details of activities are well organized

  6. Coordinates the collection of report submission by the various DOH Offices & Bureaus to UNICEF

– Detailed project management workplan with activities to be undertaken by Child Fund Phils for the NCE.

– Mindanao Regions Readiness Assessments, National/Regional ITF Situational Reports and Monitoring Reports.

 

 

– National/Regional ITF Situational Reports, Monitoring Reports and RCM report.

– Progress report on status of project implementation including challenges encountered and strategies to mitigate risks; minutes of meetings and compiled December- January project report.

– MR SIA After Action Reviews and documentation, operational improvement plans and microplans for strengthening routine immunization.

– Progress report on status of project implementation including challenges encountered and strategies to mitigate risks; minutes of meetings and compiled February project report.

– Review HIS and Final report of Child Fund Phils. and provide recommendations for improvement of report/results presentation.

– Documentation of NIP Multistakeholder Coalition engagements, policy, and costed action plans with M&E; Documentation of MR SIA Phase 2 Preparatory Activities.

– Draft report for CDS3 implementation including sites, results, challenges,  lessons learned, good practices and recommendations for further scale up of REP for DOH, UNICEF and other stakeholders.

– Documentation of assessment of scale up sites of REP and other innovations including actions taken for CHDs and LGUs to sustain the use of REP strategy to strengthen implementation of routine immunization.

– Readiness assessment reports for Phase 2 MR SIA.

– Approved Final Report for CDS3 implementation with documentation, recommendations.

– MR SIA Phase 2 Progress report.


To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in development or other relevant disciplines including public health.
  • Certification in project management would be an asset.

Knowledge/Expertise/Skills required:

1. With experience working in public health related agencies, social development sector and any national or international

organizations interacting with the health sector.

2. With at least 1-2 years’ experience in management and implementation of development projects.

3. Work experience in immunization related projects/programs an advantage.

4. Experience working with UN or UNICEF, directly or indirectly, on health or immunization, an advantage.

5. Excellent analytical and written and oral communication skills; people and leadership skills.

6. Be able to work in multi-disciplinary teams and with the ability to multi-task and perform well under pressure.
