Job Description
This is a supervisory role that works closely with Park and Lodge Management and is assigned responsibilities related to management and supervision of a team. This position will also involve the care and maintenance of park property and may have the opportunity to have a park residence to be on call for after-hours maintenance needs.
Sequoyah Lodge is located in Sequoyah State Park with 150 lodging accommodations: 104 Lodge Rooms & Suites, 44 Duplex & Quadplex Cottage Units, a Lakehouse Cottage that sleeps 14, and a Bunkhouse that sleeps 38.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required at this level include knowledge of the materials, methods, tools and equipment used in various building and maintenance trades; and of hazards and safety precautions related to the trade in which work is performed. Skill is required to use tools and equipment, and to maintain and repair various types of materials and equipment. Ability is required to follow written and oral instructions.
Four (4) years of experience in one or more of the building trades or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be at least 18 years or older.
Physical Requirements: Applicant must be able to lift/carry a minimum of 40 pounds. Applicant must be able to work in extreme weather conditions (over 95 degrees F and below 20 degrees F). Applicant must be able climb ladders and stairs.
To operate state-owned vehicles in the performance of regularly assigned duties; a successful applicant must possess and maintain a valid Oklahoma driver’s license at the time of appointment.
