We are headquartered in Calgary and maintain a satellite office in Houston.What You Would Do in This RoleThe Logistics Coordinator is responsible for performing activities to ensure the timely delivery of materials and equipment to meet project requirements. Duties include:
- Working within a project team environment, potentially on multiple projects
- Ensuring timely and cost-effective logistics planning while adhering to client requirements and proper practices
- Creating, updating, and maintaining status reports
- Preparing requisitions for heavy haul/over-dimensional competitive bids
- Attending project and vendor meetings, as required
- Executing appropriate hauling strategies
- Attesting and validating carrier invoices
- Assisting in the negotiation of carrier service rates
- Developing and managing carrier relationships
- Assisting with expediting, as required
- Performing other duties as requested
- Communicating with carriers to resolve issues
- Attending status meetings with suppliers
- Coordinating with project team members for status updates
Requirements
- Minimum (3) years of logistics experience in engineering, procurement, construction environment
- Contract development experience related to transportation
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Problem solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to adapt in a changing environment
- Ability to work without supervision
- In-office work is required for this position
Preferred
- Post-secondary certification or equivalent
- Four-plus years of project freight coordination experience
