The Supporter Content team in the Marketing and PR Services section at UNICEF’s Private Fundraising and Partnership (PFP) division seeks the services of an experienced, skilled 360 and 2D digital video editor to support the development and delivery of options for headset and dome ready products for high value fundraisers to use with prospects and donors across the world; as well as to boost our current regular video editing capacity to help meet increased demand from our internal customers.

PURPOSE OF ASSIGNMENT

This role will support the ongoing expansion and normalization of the Global and Bespoke VDE programme and provide direct editing and versioning for all newly co-created or newly identified existing 360 content. The aim is to support markets to enrich partners’ experience at all stages of the acquisition, cultivation, stewardship, and retention journey; as well as expanding into new donor audiences. As well as making and/or securing 360 footage from our operations, the role will also provide light training and support to markets using these products for the first time.

OBJECTIVE

Under the overall supervision and guidance of the Communication Manager of the Supporter Content Team, and supervision of the Communications Specialist (Virtual Experiences), the role aims to strengthen UNICEF’s position in a competitive fundraising environment by bringing donors closer to our work in programme countries, helping to develop new and existing partnerships, and ultimately drive increases in income and influence. It will work with the Virtual Experiences production team and will add editing capacity for non-360

production as business needs dictate.

MAJOR TASKS TO BE ACCOMPLISHED

Under the guidance of the Communications Specialist (Virtual Experiences), Supporter Content, MPRS, PFP, the consultant will:

  • Compile 360 b-roll. Collect, collate and upload 360 content from across the UNICEF ecosystem. Review, edit, and consolidate the material, ensuring clarity and continuity of structure and core themes.
  • Edit 360 video including with graphics and treatments including some basic motion graphics. Ensure implementation of the UNICEF workflows and production toolkits.
  • Build out how-to guides/ for when to deploy 360
  • Collect and promote best practice examples for using 360 with high value audiences.
  • Provide customer service regarding advice and guidance for markets interested in and using 360 video products.
  • Edit 2D video for Virtual Experiences and Stewardship content as needed. Production support for live or prerecorded online/ virtual events and experiences for private sector audiences by supporting the producer to preparing and package content, and other production needs for high value stewardship edit products.
  • Ensure all paperwork, including shotlists, scripts are provided according to UNICEF’s standards. Check spelling, country, and city names and acronyms and other abbreviations (making sure that they follow official UNICEF terminology and conventions), style consistency and Brand Toolkit.
  • Be available for several rounds of editing. Deliver on tight, short timelines as needed.
  • Upload produced assets to UNICEF’s Digital Asset Manager.
  • Contribute to project team brainstorms and creative ideation as needed.
  • The role will follow UNICEF’s technical and ethical guidelines.

Responsibilities of the Consultant:

  • The consultant will use their own equipment; laptops, microphones, software and other accessories that may be required for this task.
  • The consultant will not give the content/material or any part thereof, to any third party without the written permission of UNICEF. All components will be a property of UNICEF, and the consultant will not share the same with anyone else.
  • The consultant will not put their own name or logo/emblem on the content / final product. The only organization branding will be UNICEF, if required.
  • Regular liaison with manager and content owners and any related units.

Responsibilities of UNICEF:

  • UNICEF will provide all details pertaining to the activity and the requirements.
  • UNICEF will orient the consultant on UNICEF’s branding guidelines.
  • UNICEF will share the documents and specifications with the consultant as he/she becomes available and will coordinate the timely delivery of work.

  2. 360 digital video edit: 360 video edit 5-10 min (mixed) – translated language versions of an already produced video as well as shotlists, upload to WeShare, UNICEF’s Digital Asset Manager (DAM), with metadata.
  3. 360 digital video edit: 360 video broll compilations from existing rushes, upload to WeShare, UNICEF’s Digital Asset Manager (DAM), with metadata.
  4. 2D digital video edit: 2D video edit 1-3 min (mixed) – English version with all formats, additional broll, international versions of each, upload to WeShare, UNICEF’s Digital Asset Manager (DAM), with metadata.
  5. 2D digital video edit: 2D video edit 1-3 min (mixed) – translated language versions of an already produced video, as well as shotlists, upload to WeShare, UNICEF’s Digital Asset Manager (DAM), with metadata.
  6. 2D digital video edit: 2D video edit 3-5 min (mixed) – English version with all formats, additional broll, international versions of each, upload to WeShare, UNICEF’s Digital Asset Manager (DAM), with metadata.

  10. 360 digital video: How-to-use a 360 video guide, 1-2 pager, upload to WeShare, UNICEF’s Digital Asset Manager (DAM), with metadata.
  11. 360 digital video edit: Quality control, manage metadata and upload an already produced 360 video to WeShare, upload to WeShare, UNICEF’s Digital Asset Manager (DAM), with metadata.
  12. 2D digital video edit: Quality control, manage metadata and upload an already produced 2D video to WeShare, upload to WeShare, UNICEF’s Digital Asset Manager (DAM), with metadata.

TRAVEL:

No travel is envisaged for this consultancy. However, if there is a possibility of travel during the assignment on a per need basis, this will be covered separately by UNICEF and not included in the lump sum fee.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have… 

Education:

  • A first-level university degree (Batchelor’s or higher) in one of the following fields is required: Marketing, Communications, the Humanities, Journalism, Video, Film, or another relevant technical field.
  • Any other additional training in a related field is an asset.

Experience:

  • A minimum of two (2) years of relevant professional work experience as a multimedia specialist filming and editing content for 360 video editing & 2D video editing is required.
  • Knowledge and experience working with industry-standard software such as Adobe Premiere is required.
  • Experience working in emergency settings is an asset.
  • Experience producing a range of content for private sector supporters including communications channels, individual donors, and high-value donors (corporates, major donors, foundations, faith, and membership-based, etc.) is an asset.
  • Experience working with a UN agency, NGOs is an asset.

Language:

  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of an additional UN language is desirable.

Others:

  • Works well under pressure is desirable.
  • Brings a problem-solving attitude is an asset.
  • Patience and ability to explain 360 techology to non-expert people is required.
  • Has respect for the goals of fundraising and support comms work is required.
  • Flexible and can work with the team to ensure joint delivery of all workload is required
