Work Location: Sidway Elementary

Salary: Per diem $145 with increase/retroactive to collective bargaining agreement after 40 d ays.

Description of Position:

Work collaboratively with a Kindergarten or 1st-grade team to provide high-quality instruction to students.

Skills/Abilities Required :

  • NYS certification Childhood Education B-2 or Pre-K-6.

  • NYS certification SPED

  • Possess a strong understanding of instruction in CCLS.

  • Ability to use Data Driven Instruction to improve student achievement.

  • Ability to cooperate and collaborate with the grade-level teams, special area teachers, and intervention teachers.

  • Strong use of technology to support professional responsibilities; ability to integrate technology into instruction.

  • Evidence of academic success at undergraduate and/or graduate level.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that foster students’ academic, social, and emotional development.

  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere where all students feel valued and supported.

  • Use a variety of teaching methods and instructional resources to engage students in active learning.

  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely feedback and support to ensure academic growth.

  • Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and colleagues to support each student’s learning and development.

  • Foster a love of learning through interactive, hands-on activities and creative lessons.

  • Maintain a safe and organized classroom environment.
