A well-established manufacturing company in Cary, IL is seeking a Tool Room Machinist to join their maintenance and engineering team.
Schedule:
2nd Shift: Monday – Friday, 4:20 PM – 12:30 AM
Pay:
$33.00/hour + $1.00/hour shift differential
Assignment Type:
6-Month Contract (Temp-to-Perm)
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform precision machining of parts for repair, maintenance, and construction of high-speed assembly and prototype equipment
- Operate manual tool room equipment including mills, lathes, drill presses, surface grinders, and more
- Build and rebuild plant-related machinery to support manufacturing operations
- Troubleshoot high-speed assembly equipment and produce spare parts
- Read mechanical blueprints and produce clear, accurate sketches
- Machine parts to close tolerances (+/- .0005)
- Cut, shape, and fabricate tools
- Perform calibrations and regular maintenance of equipment
- Work with ferrous, non-ferrous, synthetic materials, and alloys
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Strong mechanical aptitude and machining experience
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Experience with conventional tool room equipment
- Familiarity with various materials and machining techniques
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (due to export compliance regulations)
