Summary
The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of production equipment, machinery, and facility systems to ensure safe and efficient plant operations. This role supports preventative maintenance initiatives, equipment reliability, and continuous operational performance within an industrial manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform installation, repair, and preventative maintenance on production machinery, equipment, and facility systems
* Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
* Install and properly set bearings and perform roll bearing disassembly and reassembly
* Diagnose and repair pumps, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems
* Troubleshoot instrumentation systems including pressure, level, distance, and proximity devices
* Perform coupling alignment and precision measurements using micrometers and related tools to verify parts meet specifications
* Utilize proper rigging and lifting techniques to safely move and position equipment
* Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics
* Maintain organized and efficient work practices in a fast-paced industrial environment
* Assist with basic electrical troubleshooting and support equipment diagnostics
* Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability
* Perform additional duties and special projects assigned
* Minimum of 5 years of mechanical maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
* Basic electrical troubleshooting skills
* Familiarity with PLCs, drives, and industrial control systems
* Welding experience preferred
* Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
* Knowledge of preventative maintenance practices and industrial equipment repair
* Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
* Ability to safely operate tools, lifting equipment, and maintenance machinery and lift up to 50 lbs
* Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and emergency call-ins as needed
Preferred Skills
* Experience with rotating equipment maintenance
* Strong understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
* Precision alignment and measurement experience
