SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Responsible for performing preventative maintenance, predictive maintenance and maintenance repairs on a wide variety of mechanical equipment and devices. Respond to emergency situations and calls throughout the facility. Perform minor electrical, plumbing, HVAC and carpentry repairs required to maintain systems operation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Mechanical training and 1 year hands on job related experience in repair of stationary or mobile equipment required.
  • Must have customer service skills and strong communication skills; and have initiative, ingenuity and drive to keep abreast of constantly changing technology.
  • Must have a mechanical aptitude and computer knowledge.
  • Must be able to read, comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions; Simple use of formulas, charts, tables, drawings, specifications, schedules, wiring diagrams, together with the use of adjustable measuring instruments; and use basic mathematics equivalent to 1 to 3 years applied trades training.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
  • Must pass a written test and hands on skills demonstration with a minimum passing score of 75%.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):

  • Five (5) years experience in mechanical repairs, including electrical and plumbing trades is preferred.
  • Operation of tractors, forklifts, bucket trucks, high lifts and other types of equipment preferred.
