JOB PURPOSE

This position is primarily responsible for maintaining equipment in and related to plastic injection molding manufacturing and automation. The position includes an on-the-job training regimen to facilitate the increase of knowledge and experience in the field.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs routine preventive maintenance and emergency repairs using the help and direction of the maintenance staff, Supervisor, and manuals. This includes electronic, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Facilities maintenance will also be a part of the job responsibilities.

• Trouble shoots, repairs, aligns, calibrates, inspects, and tests a variety of production systems and equipment.
• Disassembles machines and parts and adjusts, repairs, or replaces defective parts and materials.
• Maintains appropriate maintenance and repairs logs.
• Learns all aspects of machine maintenance and becomes cross-trained in all areas of manufacturing and assembly.
• Requisition of parts to be handled through the maintenance team.
• Abide by and support all company safety and quality programs and initiatives.
• Ability to communicate in verbal and written form clearly and intelligently.
• Ability to lift and move items up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to stand/walk for up to 12 hours a shift.
• Ability to climb up and down ladders.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to work with minimal supervision, and ability to understand instructions and information as taught.
• A basic understanding of injection molding equipment is a plus.
• Experience with PLCs, robotics and AC/DC drives is a plus.
• HVAC certification is a plus.
• Welding, cutting, fabrication or machining experience is a plus.
• Plumbing experience is a plus.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of experience in a maintenance role for a manufacturing facility, preferably injection molding.
• Trade certifications preferred but not necessary.
