Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

The Maintenance Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of steel processing and material handling equipment. This position emphasizes maintaining and troubleshooting high-voltage systems (up to 480V), PLCs, and complex mechanical systems. The technician will work with specialized equipment, including coil polishing lines, sheet polishing machines, and cut-to-length systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair high-voltage (up to 480V) electrical systems, motors, and control panels.
• Diagnose and repair PLC-controlled equipment and automation systems.
• Maintain and service hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Support operations involving coil polishing, sheet polishing, and cut-to-length equipment.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Ensure all work complies with OSHA and company safety standards.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.

Essential Skills

• 5 or more years of experience in a metal manufacturing maintenance technician environment.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical and electrical systems.
• Proficiency in hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate with production employees to solve problems.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 – $38.00/hr.
