$16.52 to $18.17 hourly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. South Area/Melbourne/Travels Countywide. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Performs entry-level service work maintaining and making simple repairs to County grounds, buildings, roads, parks, and other facilities.

REQUIREMENTS: No formal training or experience is required. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida driver’s license and maintain said license during the term of employment. Must be able to operate light automotive vehicles and less complex public works equipment and safely and effectively utilize hand and power-operated equipment used for site construction. Experience in the construction of roads, drainage, and sidewalks is preferred. This is heavy physical work performed outdoors and involves exposure to dirt, dust noise, fumes and odors, working in and around moving traffic and heavy equipment, and extreme weather conditions.In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
