Everyone at Rotman, faculty and staff, plays a role in bringing that promise to life.Your opportunity:Reporting to the Director, Office of the Dean, the Manager, Academic Administrative Services provides leadership and strategic oversight to the mandate and operations of the administrative team to ensure high-quality support for academic portfolios of the Vice-Deans and Area Coordinators. This role is responsible for providing operational guidance to the leadership of Centres & Institutes and Labs, on administrative best practices to ensure consistent high quality administrative support.The Manager provides strategic advice to a diverse and complex range of administrative, financial functions as they relate to academic administrative plans. The Manager is an essential resource in managing the academic administration and the academic operations by contributing to the development and successful implementation of strategic priorities, processes, and area-specific objectives. The incumbent works closely with the senior leadership in developing and implementing short and long-term strategic plans and priorities in connection with the academic mandate of the Rotman School and is the lead of projects on academic administrative support.As a leader, the Manager assumes responsibility for developmental, human resource and workflow/workload issues including dispute resolution and compliance with collective agreements.Essential Qualifications:
- EDUCATION:
University degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of five (5) years of senior administration experience, including significant management experience, preferably in a unionized environment; experience working in an education setting is preferable. Proven management and leadership skills in a unionized environment; experience in team building and managing change. Demonstrated experience in liaising with senior administrators, responding to and handling matters of complex and sensitive nature. knowledge of academic support and experience with developing and implementing administrative and business processes is required. Additional knowledge of strategic planning, change management and academic programs is preferred.
- SKILLS:
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders. Exceptional negotiating, influencing and communications skills, coupled with an ability to build strong relationships with faculty and staff. The ability to motivate staff to work collaboratively toward the goals of the office. Demonstrated strategic, analytical, organization and planning skills. Must be able to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks and responsibilities. Superior presentation, oral and written communication skills. Sound judgment. Detail-oriented and responsive. Advanced computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- OTHER:
