WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

• Work with state agencies regarding ambulance service certification.
• Interface with Nursing Operations, Case Management, and Unit leaders requesting patient transportation.
• Work with the ED to arrange for staff to assist in the ED between transport calls.
• Work with appropriate dispatching entity (i.e. patient logistics/Transfer Center).
• Ensure appropriate stocking of vehicles, maintenance on vehicles and safety of vehicles.
• Plan for future business strategies including NICU and critical care transports.
• Communicate regularly with local ambulance vendors to coordinate back-up transport support.
• Track quality indicators including timeliness, statistics regarding runs, and other key processes.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and accreditation standards.
• Ensure all state and accreditation paperwork is completed and submitted before due.
• Negotiate and approve contracts at the department level and oversee the approval through administration.
• Teach and assist teaching in both the EMT and paramedic programs.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma/GED – Required
• Bachelor’s Degree – Preferred
• 5 years Delivery of out-of-hospital emergency care – Required
• 5 years Appropriate medical or allied health education, training and experience. – Required
• 2 years Customer Service – Preferred
• Licensed Paramedic (PARA) – Required
