Primary Function of position

This role requires a passionate student of management, new technology, software development methodologies and tools. The ideal candidate has the ability to create and motivate a high-performing software engineering team, and to actively engage with other cross-functional teams to develop automated process and test equipment for Intuitive’s Multiport Systems products and components.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the development of software that enables the manufacturing of current and future Multiport products and components. As a technical leader within the Manufacturing Software group, this person will work in conjunction with Design Engineering, Systems Analysts, Manufacturing Engineering, Equipment Engineering, and Quality Engineering teams to create integrated, scalable automated production test and processes equipment.

The focus of this role is the development, deployment, support, and continuous improvement of fixtures used by our CMs to manufacture and test Multiport Systems products and components.

Essential Job Duties

  • Build and manage a team of software engineers who develop software for manufacturing and testing Intuitive’s Multiport Systems products and components.
  • Mentor and coach software developers on the team.
  • Develop, manage, and track software projects through their lifecycles.
  • Manage requirements to ensure software meets expectations.
  • Establish standards, metrics, and measurement techniques to assess the quality of software delivered by the team.
  • Establish suitable software architecture and software development processes.
  • Collaborate with design engineers, system analysts, manufacturing engineers, and equipment engineers to ensure that manufacturing software meets requirements.
  • Acquire and maintain a detailed understanding of each new product’s system-level operation, control algorithms, safety systems, and user interfaces. Leverage this knowledge to ensure product integrity and quality in a production environment.
  • Play a lead role in developing comprehensive diagnostic test strategies for new system designs that include specific testability requirements and fault diagnostic aids.
  • Lead projects within group and/or with cross-functional teams focused on process and equipment improvements for high-volume manufacturing.
  • Provide technical leadership for the development of software for production equipment, test fixtures, and process tools.
