Job Overview

Shriners Children’s is the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center. We have an opportunity for a Manager, Health Information Management (HIM) to join our team. 

Responsibilities

The Manager, Health Information Management is responsible for managing, coordinating and performing day to day HIM departmental operations and staff supervision. The HIM Manager will oversee and implement facility related HIM operational planning, initiatives, budgets, workfow processes and internal controls. Responsibilities include: interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing workflows, appraising employee performance and rewards, addressing complaints and resolving problems, actively overseeing and managing production and quality control efforts, supporting local colleges with education of HIM students, serving as the facility Privacy Offier and designated Facility Records Custodian.

Qualifications

Education

Associates degree in Applied Science – Health Information Management required

Experience

3 years experience in HIM required

Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) OR

Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) through AHIMA, required

Other

Ability to provide effective leadership to assigned staff and utilize appropriate management methods and practices.
