Job Overview

The Manager Health Information Management (HIM) Operations is responsible
for oversight of the release of information (ROI), chart completion and
deficiency tracking, scanning and identity teams at all Children’s
Hospital Colorado locations.Ensures HIM operations support hospital policy,
medical staff by-laws and regulatory and legal requirements, maintains
departmental policies and procedures accordingly.Works in association with the
HIM operations staff, clinicians, coders, and all members of the
healthcare team to ensure accurate and timely completion, maintenance, and
acce

Job Status: Full time, 40 hours per week.
Shift: Day, HIM 8am to 5pm, Hybrid

Qualifications

EDUCATION – Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management, Health
Care Administration, Business Administration, Management, Finance, or
a related field.
EXPERIENCE – Five (5) years of HIM operations experience, including one
(1) years of supervisory experience.
EQUIVALENCY – Professional experience, beyond requirements, in a related
field may substitute for a Bachelor’s degree requirement on a year for year
bas
CERTIFICATION(S) – One (1) of the following credentials from American
Health Information Management Association (AHIMA):
Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)
Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA)
LICENSURE – N/A

Responsibilities

POPULATION SPECIFIC CARE
No direct patient care.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
*Actively partners, interdepartmentally, in the development and execution
of strategic planning regarding business and clinical operations.
*Manages team members and day-to-day operations of ROI, chart completion and
deficiency tracking, scanning and identity (i.e., program development,
process improvement, etc.).
*Provides one-on-one and group training, researches HIM-related questions
and issues, and supports HIM inquiries.
*Maintains up-to-date knowledge of HIPAA and patient right of access, and
state, federal and regulatory requirements for medical record documentation.
*Provides project management leadership by creating charters (when
applicable), timelines, milestones, and goals and objectives for
projects and programs. Keeps projects on time and on task. Engages
appropriate managers and coordinators in project management process and works
to achieve active buy-in from stakeholders.
*Evaluates, designs, and implements workflows and procedures to ensure
compliance requirements are met, turnaround times are maintained, and
unbilled dollars are within expected targets.
