The opportunity
EY’s Health Consulting practice provides comprehensive performance improvement solutions to government, public and private health care organizations across Canada. These solutions are delivered across several strategic service offerings, which include clinical and operational performance improvement, technology and digital transformation (including EHR/EMRs, automation, virtual health, and analytics), program reviews, strategy development and planning, workforce strategy and organizational design, major project/program advisory services, as well as system and care delivery model design and transformation. Our Health practice works closely and collaborates with our Government and Public Sector and Life Science practices.

EY’s Health Consulting practice is seeking a highly motivated team player with a strong work ethic and excellent consulting skills for the role of Manager in Edmonton, Vancouver or Toronto.
Your Responsibilities
- Lead key workstreams or engagements, driving the completion of specific workstreams or deliverables.
- Lead and direct teams to provide insightful and impactful solutions to complex client issues, leveraging analytical approaches, established methodologies and critical thinking skills.
- Direct and guide the work of consultants, offering respectful challenge and experienced-based insight to drive high quality outputs and work products.
- Develop, maintain and strengthen client relationships through the delivery of excellent service.
- Participate in business development activities, including proposal coordination and development.
- Keep abreast of current health care and government trends and issues directly relevant to the business of current and potential clients.
- Demonstrate technical and professional knowledge of the health care industry.
- Participate in the development of health care thought leadership.
- Mentor and train Senior Consultants and interns, through on the job coaching and supervision or as a peer advisor.
- Foster an innovative, inclusive and team-oriented work environment.
Skills and attributes for success
To qualify for the role you should have
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in business, health administration, public policy or related field, or equivalent experience (MBA or MSC are preferred).
- A minimum of 5+ years’ experience in industry and/or with a professional services firm along with a successful track record in health and performance improvement solutions.
- Lead internal teams responsible for delivery and completion of EY engagements, including managing EY team members, engagement planning and scheduling, development and completion of engagement work products and deliverables, reviewing work performed by staff and senior associates, participate in performance reviews, and contribute to on-the-job feedback/training.
- Experience in providing growth strategy; strategy, value creating strategy, the strategic planning process; operating model design; strategic investment analysis; and enterprise cost reduction
- Experience leading projects in innovation, market assessments and transformation would be nice to have.
- A minimum of 3+ years experience in strategy consulting experience with Fortune 1,000 clients, selling and delivering successful, high-impact strategy projects is an asset.
- Advanced problem-solving skills and critical thinking ability, including the ability to structure and plan workstreams to address bespoke and custom client needs.
- Strong command of technical applications and tools to support complex analysis.
- Experience synthesizing research and analysis into structured and logical recommendations.
- Excellent communication skills and writing ability.
- Travel requirements may be up to 80% of work week.
Ideally you’ll also have
- Security clearance preferred.

The salary range for this job in British Columbia is $108,500 to $163,000. Individual salaries within this range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and work location city.
