The Information Services Manager for Enterprise Imaging is charged with the overall responsibility of the Enterprise Imaging team and their deliverables, including scope, cost, schedule, and quality. The manager will work as a liaison between the Enterprise Imaging team, our IS partners, and our operational customers. The position assumes responsibility supporting and implementing clinical applications, specifically the Enterprise Imaging Platform. They will manage the team and all work associated with the team, as well as ensure that proper resources are available to meet implementation deadlines as well as ongoing support needs. This dynamic leader must possess strong people leadership skills, customer service skills, organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities. This position reports to the Director, Imaging Technology Solutions.
Team Productivity and Quality
• Manages resources required to implement, maintain, and support clinical applications with oversight to scheduling and workload. This includes a focus on capacity planning, demand management, and resource utilization.
• Manages the recruitment and hiring of qualified personnel as needed to meet the operational needs of the team.
• Oversees employee and contractor productivity and travel expenses as per division processes.
• Ensures quality of project and other deliverables assigned to the project teams.
• Communicates clear expectations on work deliverables, timelines, and challenges.
• Holds staff accountable for adhering to the best practices, including all institutional, divisional and department procedures.
• Defines metrics for measuring team performance – at least one related to productivity and one related to quality
Domain Expertise
• Demonstrates knowledge and expertise in the support of assigned clinical applications and maintains proficiency as application functionality and support requirements evolve.
• Maintains security policies including GRCs and Disaster Recovery Plans.
• Provides guidance, mentoring, and application management expertise to customers and team members
• Participates in meetings and works with customers as appropriate to maintain working knowledge of institutional operations and needs
• Proactively looks for ways to improve IS service delivery and recommends realistic solutions and/or improvements
• Demonstrates knowledge of Governance Processes
• Keeps abreast of current and emerging technology in both hardware and software
Leadership & Strategic Development
• Provides leadership, activity planning, coordination and directions to complete the assigned project team tasks, produce the required deliverables, track and resolve issues, and meet the relevant project milestones.
• Investigate emerging tools and technologies, and use knowledge and application of the research information system resources in the acquisition, implementation and maintenance of institutional information systems.
• Proactively resolves issues encountered during and after the implementation of initiatives, working with all levels of personnel both internal and external to the institution.
• In collaboration with researchers and subject matter experts, lead and prioritize development, requirements, and creation of strategic roadmaps for supporting software.
• Monitors and maintains GRC compliance on all assigned departmental applications.
Relationship Management / Customer Service
• Maintains relentless focus on customer service and partners with the user community on projects and services, especially in relation to their goals, status and expected outcomes, as well as overall information systems vision and strategies; keeping improvement of the digital experience as a primary objective.
• Works collaboratively with internal customers, staff and other information systems departments to successfully plan, implement and support Research and Clinical related projects and initiatives.
• Provides oversight of vendor relationships and vendor issue resolution as needed.
• Lead solution integration, deployment and documentation to on-board users to solutions.
Program Management and Technical Acumen
• Ensure best practices are used for administration of enterprise testing, with assistance from the Program Manager(s) and Team Lead(s).
• Monitors the status of the project to ensure completion of project deliverables on agreed upon timeframe and quality.
• Provide oversight of the research software portfolio for clinical, basic, and translational research.
• Continuously assesses the application portfolio and evaluates systems consolidation, application sunsetting and new, emerging technologies.
• Collaborate with researchers and internal IS teams to ensure alignment of software and hardware. Ensuring that computational needs of the research community are met.
Other duties as assigned
Education Required: Bachelor’s degree.
Experience Required: Seven years of experience in information technology services, to include two years supervisory/management experience. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one-to-one basis. Successful completion of the LEADing Self Accelerate and/or LEADing Self Discover programs may substitute for one year of required supervisory or management experience. Completion of both programs can be substituted for a maximum of two years of supervisory or management experience.
Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
