Job Summary:

Under the general direction of the VP IT / CTO, manages the operational, financial and personnel activities of the Desktop Services team for Lutheran Health Network. Manages the productivity and output of the Desktop Services staff and ensures adherence to published Service Level Agreements (SLA). Ensures that the highest level of support, technical detail and communications is provided in an efficient and courteous manner. Involves direct customer contact requiring a high-level of interpersonal skills. Responsible for resolving difficult and unique customer questions and complaints. Serves as a liaison between staff, customers, management and various departments. Applies in-depth technical knowledge of systems, applications, and policies in support of single or multiple customer groups. Demonstrates highly developed leadership, interpersonal and customer relationship skills.

Licensure:

N/A

Experience:

Minimum of ten years progressively more responsible experience in information technology with a recent focus on desktop support and delivery.

Education:

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems Management or related field is required. A Master’s degree is preferred.

Registration/Certification:

Numerous technical certifications are desired and a plus (CISA/CISM/CISSP/MSCE/MSCDT/MOS/MCAS, etc.).

Job Knowledge & Skills:

  • Demonstrates an in-depth knowledge of customer service and service recovery.

  • Expert skills in leadership, staff mentoring, and professional development.

  • Demonstrates a mastery of work order queue management, hardware/software inventory management, and cascade/refresh strategies.

  • Competency in establishing and measuring key performance indicators and performance metrics.

  • Proficiency in establishing processes for hardware and software procurement, vendor management, and asset disposal.

  • Requires in-depth analytical and organizational skills in order to identify client needs and coordinate those needs with Information System and hospital staff.

  • Requires a complete understanding of all aspects of computer security including patch management, desktop based attack vectors, and anti-virus protection schemes.

  • Experienced with Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy, and application delivery suites.

  • Demonstrates a high level of interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, in order to relate effectively with all internal and external customers, as needed.

  • Requires a working knowledge of the English language, both verbal and written.
