We think strategically and align our initiatives to help our organization achieve its business objectives.The Manager, Marketing Automation works with stakeholders to help build, implement, and manage email marketing and marketing automation campaigns, programs, workflows, and processes that support Co-operators’ product marketing strategies and goals. This role is the primary contact for email marketing and marketing automation activities across the organization, playing a critical role in driving efficiencies, client engagement, and achieving business and marketing objectives. The role works closely with the B2C and B2B product marketing teams, as well as enterprise project teams, to assess opportunities and make recommendations for leveraging Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) to deliver lifecycle communications across the full prospect, client, and partner journey. This role leads and mentors a team of 3-5 Consultants and Specialists and reports to the AVP, Integrated Marketing, Planning & Performance.How you will create impact:

  • Drive activation, cross-sell, engagement, and retention via SFMC to increase client lifetime value.
  • Effectively collaborate and align with various internal stakeholders such as business, MarCom, Digital and others on email marketing and marketing automation initiatives.
  • Primary point of contact to triage and prioritize incoming email marketing and marketing automation requests/asks.
  • Provide business and marketing stakeholders with recommendations and ideas to execute appropriate email communications and lead gen programs.
  • Lead strategic and operational email marketing and marketing automation initiatives across the enterprise to drive performance improvements.
  • Continuously enhance the impact of marketing automation to help the company continue growth at pace.
  • Act as the steward of the email subscriber base, advocating smart targeting/segmentation, personalization, and best practices to ensure list hygiene/health, deliverability, and effective communications.
  • Keep a data-driven approach and test & learn at the core of continuous improvement.
  • Oversight on Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) compliance for email communications deployed via SFMC. Ensures ongoing CASL and PIPEDA compliance for Corporate Marketing.
  • Recruit, manage, mentor, coach, and develop members of the Marketing Automation team, ensuring their success and growth.
  • Support the Marketing Automation team with appropriate processes, workflows, tools, and capabilities to ensure efficient and effective execution of email marketing and marketing automation campaigns and programs.
  • Develop and deliver internal training and provide thought leadership to upskill the team and organization in email marketing good practices especially leveraging SFMC.

To join our team:

  • You have a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in Marketing or Digital Marketing or Business Administration.
  • SFMC certification(s) (e.g., Marketing Cloud Email Specialist) is a requirement and a good understanding of SFMC platform.
  • You have 6-9 years of progressive experience in email marketing or marketing automation, or in a similar role.
  • Proven leader with experience keeping teams motivated and resilient through change.
  • Knowledge across other Salesforce products (e.g., Sales Cloud) and SFMC studios (e.g., Email Studio, Advertising Studio Marketing Cloud Personalization).
  • Understanding of marketing analytics and/or Business Intelligence data and concepts.
  • Excellent grasp of email marketing best practices, including staying current on industry developments, trends, news and SFMC enhancements.

  • Travel occasionally between the Burlington, Guelph, Mississauga, and Toronto offices for meetings/events.
  • Extended work hours (including evenings and weekends) may be required.
