Safety is the foundation of our culture—because without safety, nothing else matters.Your Opportunity at SECUREThe Manager, Sales – Hazardous & Industrial Waste Management is responsible for leading and developing both Field and Corporate Sales Representatives, ensuring alignment between sales strategy and execution. This role focuses on expanding SECURE’s presence in the hazardous and industrial waste management sector, driving sales growth, optimizing revenue, and ensuring teams have the necessary tools, training, and resources to succeed.With a strong emphasis on revenue generation, market expansion, and customer relationship management, this position plays a key role in advancing both short- and long-term business unit objectives while maintaining SECURE’s competitive position in the market. Must have a strong understanding of hazardous and industrial waste customers base, their purchasing requirements and success factors in creating, advancing and closing revenue. The role ensures consistent and profitable growth in sales revenue and EBITDA through strategic planning and effective leadership.Success in this role requires strategic leadership, a commitment to safety, and the ability to foster trust with employees, customers, and stakeholders to achieve organizational goals.The TeamThe SECURE sales team is a dynamic group of driven professionals dedicated to driving growth and delivering exceptional client experiences. In our collaborative, fast-paced, and supportive environment, they work together to achieve success and make a meaningful impact.Work EnvironmentThis full-time, permanent position can be based in Calgary, or Edmonton Alberta, and requires 40 hours per week in an in-office setting.A Day in The LifeThe responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Mentorship & Coaching: Set expectations, mentor, and motivate sales representatives throughout the sales cycle, including pricing, contract negotiations, and MSA requirements.
  • Performance & KPI’s: Establish and review sales KPIs and goals to drive high performance and align with business objectives.
  • Sales Strategy & Programs: Develop and execute sales programs, including compensation, coaching, and training.
  • Market Growth & Policy: Implement sales policies, practices, and procedures to drive market expansion.
  • Safety & Compliance: Promote a strong safety culture through site evaluations and adherence to HSE standards.
  • Revenue & Market Expansion: Conduct market analysis and implement strategies to achieve revenue growth, expand market share, and enhance brand presence.
  • Business Development: Identify and execute revenue-generating opportunities, including capital investment projects and organic growth initiatives.
  • Key Account Management: Build and maintain strategic client relationships to drive long term business success.
  • Negotiation & Contracts: Lead complex sales negotiations, bid proposals, and agreements with high-value clients.
  • Industry Engagement: Represent SECURE at industry events, leveraging partnerships and digital sales tools/CRM for market positioning.

Skills, Experience & QualificationsThe individual in this role will have:

  • Experience & Leadership: 10+ years in sales and marketing, with 5+ years in a supervisory/management role within Industrial & Hazardous Waste Management in Western Canada or Environmental industries.
  • Education: Post-secondary education in business, marketing, or a related field is an asset.
  • Industry Expertise: Strong understanding of industrial and hazardous waste management, including clients, suppliers, competitors, and regulatory requirements.
  • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Sales CRM systems.
  • Market Knowledge: Familiarity with regional markets and business landscapes.
  • Strategic & Sales Skills: Ability to develop and execute marketing and sales strategies tailored to the industrial and hazardous waste management sector.
  • Communication & Influence: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build rapport and influence without direct authority.
  • Relationship Management: Proven ability to nurture and maintain strong client relationships and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Leadership & Team Building: Visionary leader with a track record of building high-performance teams through empowerment, engagement, and accountability.
  • Adaptability & Initiative: Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently or within a team environment while meeting business objectives.
