Become part of this world and make a difference with us.https://www.weareams.com/The RoleWe are seeking an experienced and dynamic Manager of Learning and Development in this individual contributor role to lead our efforts in enhancing employee skills, performance, and productivity. This role is pivotal in designing, implementing, and managing comprehensive learning strategies and programs that align with our client’s business objectives and support employee growth. Additionally, this position will oversee the onboarding process to ensure new employees are effectively integrated into the organization.Required 3 days in our client’s office in Mississauga (407 & Mississauga Road)You will be a Manager of processes (no direct reports) and will support our client in the electronics’ industry with a focus on supporting sales training as well as head office corporate training.Key AccountabilitiesLearning Strategy Development:

  • Develop and implement learning and development strategies that align with organizational goals and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Assess both individual and organizational development needs to drive initiatives that enhance employee capabilities.

Program Design and Implementation:

  • Design and deliver a variety of training programs, workshops, and on-the-job training, utilizing diverse methods such as coaching, job-shadowing, and online training.
  • Source and manage learning vendors to customize learning programs that align to the learning strategy.
  • Collaborate with teams in the US and Korea to manage global program nominations.
  • Manage annual 360-degree assessments for leaders.
  • Manage internal Learning Management System (LMS) and provide ongoing support for employees managing their transcripts.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make necessary adjustments to ensure they meet organizational needs.

Onboarding:

  • Oversee the development and execution of a comprehensive onboarding program that facilitates the seamless integration of new employees into the organization.
  • Collaborate with HR and department managers to ensure onboarding materials are up-to-date and reflect current company policies and culture.
  • Monitor the progress of new hires during the onboarding period, providing support and resources as needed to ensure their success.

Collaboration and Support:

  • Partner with department heads and managers to identify training needs and develop tailored programs that support team and individual development.
  • Provide guidance to managers on career development and succession planning for their team members.

Budget and Vendor Management:

  • Oversee the learning and development budget, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources.
  • Manage relationships with external training vendors and consultants to supplement internal programs.

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in learning and development. Experience supporting for sales teams is an asset but not required.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing effective training and onboarding programs.
  • Familiarity with e-learning platforms and current best practices in learning and development.
  • Strong project management and budgeting skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, and Learning Management Systems (LMS), preferably Cornerstone but not limited to.
