Job Description
The Material Manager is a key position for our program team. As the senior material manager, the selected candidate will be responsible for identifying, defining and leading opportunities to improve operational effectiveness while striving to achieve the expectations of our government customer and program teams.
We seek a diligent, dedicated and resourceful person who will further our success. The successful candidate leads a staff of supply chain professionals in life cycle management across multiple warehouses and locations. Additionally, will be responsible for training and development of the team with a drive to lead by example. Must be able to operate in a fast-paced environment and have extensive knowledge of supply chain through various progressive positions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance and timely reporting of government and corporate material and equipment including losses, gains, and on-hand inventories across multiple warehouses and inventory management systems;
- Lead initiatives to ensure continuity of supply throughout the operation to achieve uninterrupted supply of quality components and assemblies through the development of Mission Essential Lists, Master Parts Lists, and other program schedules and plans;
- Work closely with program and government stakeholders to achieve operational objectives in cost, quality, delivery and inventory;
- Act as the subject matter expert in all areas of responsibility to be the technical resource to other groups to address and resolve inquires, problems, and any scheduling issues that may arise.
- Deploy demand driven materials strategy, processes and tools that supports operational excellence achieving long-range goals and objectives;
- Lead and improve analytics, processes and procedures that drive continuous change, improvements and corrective actions, as needed;
- Coach and mentors the materials team to improve engagement with key stakeholders and to establish communication channels between the cross functional teams.
- Organize and prioritize work assignment to complete assignments / tasks on time, with quality and demonstrate the ability to anticipate problem areas in advance.
- Be accountable for defining resource needs and works within budget and staffing parameters to accomplish objectives for area of responsibility.
- Perform other duties as assigned
This position is located in scenic and historic Southern Maryland in the St. Mary’s County Technology Corridor adjacent to the Patuxent River Naval Air Station.
There is no monetary relocation assistance budgeted for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to St. Mary’s County, Maryland or surrounding areas.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or Engineering and at least 8 years of related experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Experience with both government and corporate inventory management systems including DPAS and Cost Point
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $116419 – $197912
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
