Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant – AudenshawTeaching Personnel is currently seeking a Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated “Good” secondary school in Audenshaw. This full-time role is set to commence in October and will continue until the end of the academic year, with the potential for the position to become permanent based on performance. The role offers a weekly pay rate of £419.25 – £500.Role Overview:As a Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students’ learning and academic progress, particularly in mathematics. This position is ideal for a recent maths graduate who is considering a career in education, looking to gain hands-on experience in a school setting.Key Responsibilities:Classroom Support: Work closely with the mathematics department to assist in the delivery of lessons. Provide support to students during class, helping to clarify concepts and ensuring all students can access the curriculum.Small Group and One-on-One Tutoring: Offer targeted support to students who may be struggling with certain mathematical concepts. This could involve running small group sessions or providing one-on-one tutoring to help students improve their understanding and performance in maths.Intervention Programmes: Assist in the planning and implementation of intervention strategies aimed at improving students’ mathematical skills. Help to identify students who would benefit from additional support and deliver tailored sessions to meet their needs.Progress Monitoring: Keep track of the progress of the students you support, maintaining detailed records and providing feedback to teachers. Use this information to help inform teaching strategies and intervention plans.Classroom Management: Help to maintain a positive and productive classroom environment. Support teachers in managing classroom behaviour, ensuring that all students are engaged and focused on their learning.Resource Preparation: Assist in the preparation of teaching materials and resources for lessons. This may include creating worksheets, setting up equipment, or preparing visual aids.Collaboration: Work alongside teachers, the SENCO, and other support staff to ensure a cohesive approach to student support. Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to discussions on student progress and curriculum planning.Encouraging Student Engagement: Motivate and encourage students to develop a positive attitude towards mathematics. Support students in building their confidence and resilience in tackling challenging mathematical problems.Safeguarding: Adhere to the school’s safeguarding policies, ensuring the safety and well-being of all students. Report any concerns promptly to the designated safeguarding lead.Requirements:
