Position Summary
STOOS is currently seeking M&E and Research Field Managers for short-term consultancies in several countries in Africa. These professionals will play a crucial role in supporting our ongoing and upcoming projects, including program evaluations, research studies, and independent monitoring assignments. Key responsibilities will include the recruitment and training of field researchers, coordinating data collection, managing logistical aspects of fieldwork, ensuring compliance with local protocols, and overseeing the quality of data collection and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruit, train, and mobilize field researchers and experts for data collection activities.
- Coordinate logistics for data collection, including permissions, access, and security measures as required.
- Supervise field teams to ensure timely and high-quality data collection.
- Translate collected data into relevant local languages as needed for reporting and analysis.
- Maintain effective communication with local stakeholders, including government and non-governmental organizations, to facilitate project activities.
- Prepare field reports and assist in data management, including coding and translation where necessary.
Ideal Candidate Profile
STOOS is looking for dynamic professionals with a proven track record in field research, monitoring, and evaluation. The successful candidate should demonstrate:
- Extensive experience in managing data collection and field operations, especially in challenging contexts.
- Strong network and relationships with local stakeholders in the country of application, including government and civil society actors.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and training skills.
- Fluency in English and the local language(s) of application country (mandatory). Additional language skills in French are desirable.
- Demonstrated skills in data translation, coding, and analysis.
Qualifications
- Advanced proficiency in English (both written and spoken).
- Previous experience in data collection, field coordination, or research project management (highly desirable).
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to navigate complex field environments.
