This position is located at Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands.

Essential Functions

  • Perform maintenance and troubleshooting of the radar mechanical systems.
  • Perform implementation of new integration projects for both improvement and modernization (I&M) and operational and maintenance (O&M)
  • Perform hardware design and structural analysis.
  • Organize integration projects
  • Provide mechanical design and support for other groups such as Hardware, Digital, Transmitter, Receiver, Electrical etc.
  • Perform work with movable mechanical systems, gear boxes, electrical servo systems, hydraulic systems, brake systems and/or electric motors.
  • Perform (I&M) and (O&M) projects involving mechanical systems.

Required Skills

  • Familiar with standard mechanical functions of equipment including, but not limited to, pumps, motors, and structural components.
  • Safety consciousness.
  • Microsoft Office Project.
  • Working knowledge of 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.
  • Demonstrated ability to read schematic diagrams.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with and direct craftsmen and technicians.
  • Excellent written and communications skills to include technical writing.

Required experience

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
  • Two or more years experience of Mechanical Engineering or equivalent field experience.
  • Experience with radar or other large mechanical system maintenance is desired.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Climber II certification or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire.
  • The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements.
  • Must be able to relocate to the United States Army Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. passport
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship.
