Mechanical Engineering manage the safe and economic life cycle of all Vehicles, Machinery, and Equipment (VME) used by Forestry England, Forest Research and Forest Services across the United Kingdom.
As the Mechanical Engineering Administration Support Officer (Procurement), you will provide day to day administrative support for the acquisition, records management, and disposal of VME. You will play a key role in supporting and helping to develop the high quality of service delivery required to support business units across Forestry England and wider agencies.
The role will be based at our offices at Bellingham, Northumberland and you will be expected to work flexibly as part of a multi-disciplinary team, providing a wide range of specific administrative duties and work with colleagues who are based at different sites. To support this, some infrequent travel may be required.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a newly formed procurement team within the Forestry England Mechanical Engineering.
This post will be based at our offices located at Bellingham, Northumberland.
The successful candidate will become part of an evolving asset management team and report directly to the Fleet Support Officer (Procurement).
The Mechanical Engineering procurement team works closely with our stakeholders and customers alongside wider Finance and Commercial teams to ensure that all acquisition and financial transactions are concluded on a timely basis, using appropriate public sector frameworks, enabling accurate forecasting as well as ensuring that the department meets all required assurance and regulatory compliance.
The Fleet Administration Officer (Procurement)will play a key part in ensuring that data and financial assurance is provided across Forestry England. The post holder will be given the opportunity to progress their financial career through identified training plans and ongoing professional development.
This role requires strong experience of administration and data input alongside well-developed interpersonal skills. Responsibilities will surround supporting the acquisition and disposal process, including reconciliation of financial and asset data across various sources, ensuring these are recorded correctly where necessary and working closely with colleagues to ensure successful transferring of assets across a wide geographical area.
You will primarily be responsible for all queries and communications with central finance and commercial for acquisition and and receipting of new assets.
