The Opportunity:Are you an experienced Project Manager ready to lead innovative mechanical engineering projects?
As a Project Manager, you will serve as the main point of contact responsible for planning, executing, and delivering engineering projects on schedule, within budget, and in line with specified requirements. Your role will involve defining project scope and requirements, securing necessary resources, and overseeing the efforts of the project team. Efficiently delivering project outcomes, ensuring quality control, maintaining clear communication with stakeholders, and providing timely reports to senior management will be critical to your success throughout each project’s lifecycle.
This role offers the chance to manage high-profile engineering projects, including new constructions, building retrofits, cutting-edge decarbonization initiatives, and other highly technical, innovative solutions that challenge the limits of mechanical engineering. Location: Toronto, Ontario.Responsibilities:The Project Manager will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Oversee and manage mechanical engineering projects of varying size and complexity
  • Analyze customer design proposals and specifications to provide cost-effective solutions
  • Ensure the delivery of professional-quality services across all aspects of the project
  • Lead project teams to ensure technical accuracy of all project deliverables
  • Manage teams to ensure projects are completed on time, safely, and within budget, meeting or exceeding client expectations
  • Supervise the entire project lifecycle, allocating resources, ensuring proper documentation, and addressing all factors necessary for success
  • Collaborate with clients to successfully deliver the final project
  • Prepare and review specification documents and conceptual reports
  • Cultivate new business opportunities
  • Strengthen and maintain existing client relationships
  • Provide mentoring to technical staff and assign duties as needed
  • Conduct site visits every 2-3 months during construction
  • Ensure quality and cost control throughout the design and construction phases
  • Maintain project schedules and cost summaries to track progress, budget status, and resource utilization
  • Identify and escalate the need for additional services or fees
  • Assist with shop drawing reviews as required

Qualifications, Experience, and Education:

  • Post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering or a related field such as Building Systems
  • Professional Engineering Designation (P.Eng.)
  • 5+ years of industry experience
  • Experience and knowledge in HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems
  • A background in consulting engineering is preferred
  • Strong understanding of engineering contractors, suppliers, and manufacturers
  • Experience with mechanical and electrical coordination
  • Construction experience is an asset
  • Proven track record in project delivery and execution of project management methods

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with staff at all levels, including technical teams, professionals, and senior management
  • Capable of building and maintaining strong relationships with business units, corporate departments, key managers, and other stakeholders
