The Opportunity 

Abt Global seeks an Associate with policy and management consulting experience relevant to Medicaid managed care monitoring and oversight. The successful candidate will have a role on a Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) funded project. The candidate enjoys working in a team environment and building and maintaining relationships with clients. The candidate will understand Medicaid managed care and the managed care organizations (MCOs) landscape and an ability to successfully work within large project teams.

Core Responsibilities

  • Supports a variety of Medicaid managed care oversight activities and deliverables by conducting research and analysis and developing memos and data analyses.  Ensures accuracy, timeliness, and integrity with delivery of client deliverables.
  • Demonstrates knowledge in Federal Medicaid and MCO reporting requirements and regulations. Contributes to tasks related to managed care regulations, program implementation and monitoring related to MCO performance, quality measurement, and reporting to federal authorities, , and network access and adequacy.
  • Brings operational perspective to improve processes and end user experience and facilitates communications across and between internal and external stakeholders. May participate in the establishment of new or revised systems, policies, or methods.
  • Has strong organizational skills and attention to detail; can manage multiple priorities and support multiple workstreams, sometimes simultaneously, under deadlines.
  • Able to think critically and creatively to solve problems and respond to client requests in situations where guidance is unclear or absent, is comfortable with ambiguity and changing direction.

What We Value

  • Senior Analyst: Bachelor’s Degree + Five years of relevant experience, or Master’s Degree + Three years of relevant experience, or PhD
  • Associate: Master’s Degree + Seven years of relevant experience, or PhD + 4 years of relevant experience
  • Previous management consulting experience preferred
  • Familiarity with Federal Medicaid and MCO regulations and program implementation and monitoring
  • Experience working on projects related to Medicaid and managed care required. State experience is not required but welcomed.
  • Demonstrated experience translating research and making it accessible to practice, policy, and/or government audiences.
  • US work authorization required and ability to obtain and maintain clearance access for HHS information systems.
  • Active credentials to work on CMS’s systems is strongly preferred.
  • A well-rounded interpersonal skill set with the capacity to build relationships with clients, funders, and to work effectively in a team environment.

This position offers an anticipated annual base salary range of approximately $70,000 to $110,000  for Senior Analyst and $106,000 to $160,000 for Associate.  Salary ranges may vary downwards by ten percent depending on candidate geographic location.  Salary offers are made based on internal equity and market analysis.
