Medical Assistant – Full-time Days

Coordinates and provides care for a group of patients spanning all age groups and cultures for a designated time frame using therapeutic means, the nursing process, the environment/instrumentation and other health care team members while assuming responsibility and accountability for these patients.

Required Skills/Qualifications/Training/experience:

• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served
• Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development
• Able to assess and interpret data reflective of the client’s status
• Provides care outlined in standards, policies and procedures
• Specialized departmental training to provide care to patients within the role
• Successful completion of SMH orientation
• Command of verbal and written English
• Positive interpersonal communication skills
• Good organizational skills
• Operation of clinical equipment
• Demonstration of clinical competence

Preferred Skills/Qualifications/Training/Experience:

Educational Requirements:

• Graduate of a two year accredited Medical Assistant program preferred

License/Certification:

• Medical Assistant
