General Description:
- As the Medical Director Veterinarian, you will lead our high-performing team and set the standard for medical care at the hospital. You will be a mentor for the veterinary team and a role model for the entire clinic, ensuring a safe, effective, and respectful work environment.
Responsibilities:Leadership and Development:
- Cast a vision for the clinic’s management team.
- Work closely with veterinarians to meet clinical and personal goals.
- Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and best practices.
- Address client concerns and complaints with the leadership team.
Monitoring and Feedback:
- Participate in discussions about clinic and staff performance.
- Facilitate doctor meetings and prepare notes.
- Ensure clients are confident in the medical services received.
- Follow up with the veterinary team on protocol adherence.
Coaching and Mentoring:
- Act as a role model for professionalism and medical care.
- Guide and evaluate veterinary staff to operate at the highest level.
- Establish a culture of collaboration for patient care.
- Provide mentorship and continuing education across VetStrategy clinics.
Hands-on Support:
- Build community awareness and loyalty to the clinic.
- Innovate operational practices to promote clinic growth.
- Contribute to the selection of new hires.
- Authorize and oversee the use of narcotics.
Advancing Medical Care:
- Oversee surgical and medical cases for all DVMs.
- Maintain and improve quality of medicine and surgical procedures.
- Establish and oversee medical protocols.
- Elevate the level of medicine through coaching and development.
Required Knowledge:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree from an accredited veterinary school.
- Eligible for licensing in Ontario.
