Reference No. R2776274Position Title: Medical Education Manager, Gastroenterology-RhinologyDepartment: Medical Immunology CanadaLocation: Toronto, OntarioAbout the JobThe Medical Education Manager, Gastroenterology/Rhinology, under the management of the Medical Lead, will partner with their medical and commercial partners to develop the national education strategy for Gastroenterology/ Rhinology based on the brand strategic imperatives. They will use insights to develop and implement national and regional Continued Medical Education (CME) and other learning programs (OLAs) that will address learning needs of health care professionals and patients to reduce healthcare gaps that are relevant to the brand strategic priorities.The Medical Education Manager will design, and lead implementation of, the learning/educational programs and will also support the gastroenterology/rhinology medical team in development of scientific communications tools (including omnichannel/multi-channel and digital scientific engagement) and resources aligned with the medical strategy.We are an innovative global healthcare company, committed to transforming the lives of people with immune challenges, rare diseases and blood disorders, cancers, and neurological disorders. We chase the miracles of science every single day, pursuing progress to make a real impact on millions of patients around the world.Main Responsibilities:Development and implementation of overall medical education and scientific communications strategy in collaboration with medical/commercial partnersAligned with the brand strategy, develop an innovative and strategic education plan including educational/learning objectives that will help reduce healthcare gaps, meet patient /customer needs and support National and/or regional objectivesCollaborate/partner with various internal/external stakeholders to develop and implement strategic and innovative customer education/learning programsThrough insights, provide strategic direction for existing and emerging learning activitiesCollaborate with medical and commercial colleagues to ensure appropriate dissemination of learning/educational content via a tailored omnichannel approachWork with medical team to create tools and approaches for multi-channel/omnichannel scientific engagementsDevelop interventions using evidence-based adult and organizational learning principles adapted to type of learners, content and settingLead development of educational materials for congresses and medical education programs in collaboration with cross functional stakeholdersPlan, organize, and execute medical education programs, including regional and national speaker tours, symposia, conferences, online modules and other interventions as neededWork with field teams and cross functional partners to ensure optimal field implementation including PSEA frameworkContribute to initiatives over and above educational initiatives: brand planning, strategic planning for the brands, program design, consultant for all programs containing educational componentsDevelop and maintain relationships with KOLs (Key Opinion Leaders) and other stakeholder groups to facilitate education initiatives and programs that support the brand.Attend/participate in National/regional and major related therapeutic area conferences as neededScientific and Business AcumenKeep abreast of scientific literature/clinical data relating to therapeutic area.Collaborate with and provide expert-level CME/learning program consultation and support to internal and external stakeholdersValidate fair market value for any payment for external stakeholdersManage Third Party Agencies efficiently: set clear expectations, timelines, optimal quote, close follow-up, ensure corporate presence and ownership of project, debriefing on project, and tight budget management.Monitor environment for new trends, opportunities, and competitor strategies, evolving business and educational needs, incorporate these findings into the development of education strategies and programs, and provide ongoing communication of these relevant findings to Brand Teams, and Field teamsContinually engage in self-development of education expertise, accreditation and performance measurement, while adhering to ethical healthcare educational standards/guidelines such as IMC CMA, CFPC, FMOQ, Royal College, ACME, internal complianceEnsure appropriate accreditation and/or endorsement of selected programsEnsure learning and educational programs are aligned with IMC and internal compliance requirementsStay attuned to new industry trend and advancing technologies related to Education and Learning ProgramsManage the medical education budget to generate maximal impact: expenses, accruals, phasing, potential variances, and recommended actionsAbout YouEducationMSc (PhD, PharmD, MD an asset)Experience3+ years of Medical Affairs experienceStrong knowledge of immunology therapeutic area (experience in gastroenterology/rhinology/allergy an asset)Project management experienceDemonstrated experience in building relationship with thought leaders, pharmacists, nurses, and patient support groups.Specific skills and/or competenciesExpertise in educational design, adult learning, education best practice, and outcomes assessmentKnowledge of complianceResults orientedStrategic agilityCommunication skillsAttention to detailScientific and business acumenAbility to critically appraise scientific dataFacilitation skillsNegotiation skillsEntrepreneurial spiritTravelApproximately 10-15% of the time with occasional weekend travelLanguagesWritten and spoken English and French a definite assetComputer KnowledgeMicrosoft Outlook: Electronic mail;
