Summary of Job Duties:A Medical Laboratory Technician performs laboratory tests and conducts analysis of blood, urine, spinal fluid, body fluids and other biological samples to determine presence of normal and abnormal components. Enters results in electronic medical record and performs quality controls to verify accurate test results. Maintains and operates laboratory equipment and instruments.Qualifications:

• Support Duties Daily quality control review.
• Organize and clean workspaces.
• Ensure adequate supplies required for daily operations are available by restocking inventory, preparing reagents, rotating stock as required.
• Set-up, maintain and operate lab automation systems used to process samples.
• Operate, calibrate and maintain equipment used in analysis such as spectrophotometers, analyzers, microscopes, slide stainers, diluters, and computer controlled high volume analyzers, mixers, rotators, pipettes.
• Perform basic troubleshooting on equipment used to perform testing. Maintain equipment used for personal protection and safety such as eyewashes, safety showers, biohazard containers, hoods, chemical cabinets and personal protective equipment.
• Maintain temperature dependent equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, incubators, water baths, heat blocks.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Salary Information:

$24.57 per hour
