We are seeking dedication and skilled doctors and nurses all year round to join our medical team in Greece. This This is an excellent opportunity for healthcare professionals looking to contribute their expertise to support refugees in need of urgent medical care. As a medical volunteer, you’ll be involved in delivering essential care, including emergency treatment, primary healthcare, and ongoing support in a refugee context. We are looking for volunteers who can commit to at least 6 weeks of service, supporting both the immediate health needs and long-term care of refugees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide medical care to refugees, including emergency medical treatment, primary healthcare, and other necessary medical interventions.
  • Assess and manage a range of health issues, from acute emergencies to chronic conditions.
  • Support the health and wellbeing of refugees within a camp setting, working with a diverse, multicultural population.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, interpreters, and psychosocial teams, to deliver holistic care.
  • Participate in medical outreach programs, ensuring health services are accessible to all individuals in need.
  • Help maintain medical records and ensure confidentiality in line with medical and ethical standards.
  • Engage in ongoing learning, reflection, and collaboration with your medical peers, sharing knowledge and experiences.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of post-graduate experience in emergency care, global health, clinical experience, or tropical medicine.
  • Degree and licensure in your home country.
  • Previous experience in refugee, emergency, or humanitarian settings is an asset but not required.
  • Previous experience in emergency, critical care, or refugee health is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to work with a multilingual and multicultural team.
  • Compassion, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to work in challenging environments with a high degree of flexibility.
  • Ability to manage high-pressure situations and provide quality care under limited resources.
  • Basic knowledge of Arabic, Farsi, or French is an advantage but not essential.
  • Must be at least 26 years of age to ensure a level of maturity and experience suitable for the role.
