Experience, wherever you have gained it, with SEND is very desirable but the school are open to inexperienced candidates looking to learn quickly within the role, particularly keen on SEMH & young people’s mental health. As the school has children of all ages, we request that you be flexible in the area of the school you would work in, although we will seek a particular key stage (for example) that you would prefer.Backgrounds with transferable skills:

• Psychology & Criminology Graduates
• Child Development and other relevant Childcare courses, children psychology/therapy/teaching interest
• Life experience (SEND, SEMH within the family)
• Mental Health roles
• School volunteering experience (including placements)
• Childminding, babysitting
• Foster Care

You will also work with young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health issues in this role:SEMH needs are a type of special educational need where a child communicates through behaviour in response to unmet social, emotional or mental health needs.Children with SEMH needs often have difficulties in managing their emotions or their behaviour. They can show inappropriate responses to their emotions. They can feel scared, anxious and misunderstood. Teaching Assistants will need patience, understanding and confidence with any behaviour that challenges.Being a Teaching Assistant is helping those who need it most, whatever the needs of the children are.This amazing school has asked us for dedicated Teaching Assistants passionate about making a difference and becoming part of an amazing team.Important Notice: For you to be successful in applying for the above position you should be eligible to work in the UK or hold a relevant work visa.
