We are looking for a Narrative Systems Designer to join Halo Studios. Do you love Halo’s universe and lore and understand how to design and implement modern console/PC narrative systems? Do you closely collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to drive immersive, cohesive narrative experiences across gameplay, environments, and characters? Responsibilities Collaborate with narrative writers, the audio team, level designers, and environment artists to define, prototype, iterate, and craft meaningful and compelling moments of incidental and environmental storytellingthroughout the development lifecycle. Create and collaborate on design documentation for all narrative experience vectors, capturing the experiential goals, tech considerations, implementation details, and working with User Research to test Narrative-focused flow and usability. Lead the creative expansion and refinement of Halo’s narrative systems with an eye towards delivering deep and immersive experiences. Implement in-engine systems and narrative elements via Unreal editor, Blueprints, data files, and prove out fundamental narrative channels (e.g. VO pipelines, dialog hooks, etc.). Build and maintain collaborative relationships with all development disciplines to ensure a best-in-industry production process that avoids silos and reinforces a unified product vision. Be a partner with cross-disciplinary performance, user research, community, support, insights, and marketing teams to deliver high quality game systems that drive player excitement and engagement for the long run.
