Faslane, HMNB Clyde
His Majesty’s Naval Base Clyde (HMNB Clyde) is home to the United Kingdom’s Strategic Nuclear Deterrent, Astute Class Attack Submarines, Mine Hunting and Diving Threat Exploitation Groups and 43 Cdo Royal Marines. It is an operational support and maintenance base, within Navy Command and comprises both Faslane and Coulport sites. HMNB Clyde’s main purpose is to provide engineering and logistical support to the Royal Navy in maintaining Continuous at Sea Deterrent (CASD). This is achieved by ensuring at least one Vanguard Class submarine is on patrol at sea every day of the year.
RNAD Coulport is responsible for the storage, processing, maintenance and issue of the Trident Weapon System and the ammunitioning of all submarine-embarked tactical weapons.
HMNB Clyde is the single operational home of the Submarine Service and will become the United Kingdom’s Submarine Centre of Excellence. This single integrated operating base is to ensure that the Royal Navy can deliver its operational commitments across all Defence Lines of Development from Scotland on an enduring basis. This transition will provide excellent opportunities for commencing and developing exciting and challenging careers within the Civil Service across a broad range of functions and numerous skillsets in direct support of output delivery.

The Information Support Assistant (ISA) is part of the Naval Base Commander Clyde (NBC(C)) iHub under the Deputy Head Business. As the successful candidate you will be part of a 6-person team delivering Knowledge Information Management (KIM) services to HMNB Clyde.
The purpose of the Business department is to provide an overarching governance function across HMNB Clyde and a broad range of business functions and specialist professional help to support the respective output areas.
As an ISA for HMNB Clyde you will be responsible for providing Information Management (IM) to the NBC organisation. The actual roles covered are Authorised Demander (AD), Team Site Administrator (TSA) and Local Security Officer (LSO). The IHUB also leads the policy and process for internal communications via the Department’s Intranet, Defence Connect and SharePoint websites.
Main details of the role include but are not limited to:
Undertake other tasking appropriate to the post-holder’s grade and experience as tasked by the Information Support Officer (ISO) and Information Manager (IM).

The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate a good understanding of the capabilities of Microsoft office, SharePoint and Teams and be willing to engage in training courses to enhance knowledge.
To be successful in this position you will need to be a good organiser, who can interrogate information and make sound judgements. You should also have good written and verbal communications skills and enjoy collaborative working and stakeholder engagement. Working in an operational environment you will need to have flexibility to adapt and accommodate changing priorities.
Previous working knowledge and experience of working in an IT delivery environment, or as an Authorised Demander are highly desirable.

This post offers First Appointment Expenses to new recruits to the Civil Service to assist with costs incurred as a result of relocation or move of home (HM Revenue and Customs restrictions apply).
