(Winter: Feb 17 – March 30, 2026; 6 weeks; Online; Asynchronous)COURSE DESCRIPTION: This is a hands-on, fast-paced course where students gain the conceptual and technical skills to develop online content. Techniques covered include image preparation, video and audio compression, navigation, HTML and CSS authoring using Adobe Dreamweaver and Google Chrome. This course will be supported by lectures and critiques.Students are responsible for purchasing their own software.LEARNING OBJECTIVESDevelop a basic understanding of front-end web design and development via HTML and CSS,Gain practical skills, techniques, and strategies for building a basic HTML web site,Gain a general perspective on the shifting landscape of web design and development.QUALIFICATIONS:A post-secondary degree (Masters preferred), or have comparable professional accomplishments,Expertise in web development,Experience in art and design,Experience with curriculum development and delivery for adult learners,Experience with online teaching,Excellent interpersonal and presentation/written communication skills.RESPONSIBILITIES: Course development, preparation, and delivery; participation in instructor and program meetings.
